Shooting Home Kit Virtus Palese 2025/26

When Virtus Palese asked me to shoot the official presentation of the 2025/2026 Home Kits, I immediately knew it couldn't be a "studio" job.

It had to have soul, a strong connection to the local area and the fans who experience the team every Sunday.

I started with the choice of locations: the sea, of course, because Palese can't be described without its blue horizon and that salty scent that's almost a trademark. But also Bari Palese Airport, a symbol of departures, arrivals, and new beginnings. Different yet complementary places: roots and horizons. I wanted the photoshoot for the new uniforms to reflect not only the team's colors, but also the identity of its supporters.

I carefully selected the colors for the locations and found them in the settings: the deep blue of the sea echoing the fabric, the pale concrete of the airport highlighting the bright details of the uniforms. I incorporated iconic elements, but without forcing them: a pier, a boat in the sea, the Palese beach—views that anyone from the area would immediately recognize and that almost become a visual embrace.

The best part? Seeing the players, at their first experience in front of a camera for a promotional shoot, feel completely at ease. For me, creating empathy is crucial: a joke, a pause, a tip on movement. And so, after the first shots, everyone is in their place and perfectly aligned with the concept being communicated.

The final result was used both for the official presentation of the new 2025/2026 uniforms and for the club's new e-commerce site. As always, it's a great satisfaction to see my photos transformed into commercial content, into tangible tools to communicate the passion of an entire community.

For me, this photoshoot was a small piece of history shared with Virtus Palese and with those who experience the excitement of watching their favorite team in the stands every Sunday.
